Statement on Township and School Safety from Mayor Samuel R. Moore, III

May 25, 2022

Re:      Statement on Township and School Safety

Dear Residents:

I am deeply saddened by the horrific tragedy that took place yesterday at Robb Elementary School and I grieve for the entire Uvalde, Texas community.

The Committee and I mourn for the twenty-one victims of this unspeakable event and express our most sincere condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of those who lost their lives during yesterday’s senseless violence.

The safety of our residents and the safety of our students is our absolute priority. I have spoken with the Superintendent of Schools for the Tabernacle School District and have assured Mr. Banin that he has the Committee’s absolute support in protecting our students and his staff.

I have reached out to the New Jersey State Police, and they assured me that they would increase their presence in and around the school through the end of the school year.

While nothing I say can lessen the unimaginable pain the people of Uvalde are facing, as Mayor it is important that you all know that your safety and your children’s safety is my top priority. As we mourn for the victims of this senseless crime let us keep the people of Uvalde and especially the students and families of Robb Elementary School in our hearts.

Heartfully yours,

Samuel R. Moore, III    /s/
Mayor of Tabernacle Township
