CHECK THE "NEED TO KNOW" SITE ON OUR WEB FOR ADDITIONAL RECYCLING INFORMATION

  • Newspaper and cardboard recycling is every other Thursday.
  • If you are dropping off recycling material at the Township facility, newspapers and cardboard should be in brown paper bags or tied with string. DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS.  Cardboard taken to the Township drop-off facility must be flattened and tied separately no larger than 1 x 3 foot bundles.
  • If you are using the new paper/cardboard recycling containers you do not need to bundle the material. Material of this nature can over lap the lid of the container if it exceeds the internal space of the container. Residents should take care to prevent the paper materials from blowing on the ground if this does occur. Paper and cardboard should not be placed in bundles on the ground as the County is using a one arm system on their trucks and do not have the manpower to pick up bundles left on the ground. Paper cartons such as juice and milk boxes, soup/broth boxes, etc. are also considered recyclable and may be placed in these containers.
  • Glass, aluminum, tin and plastic bottles with the symbols #1 and #2 may be recycled in the round bucket which needs to be placed at the edge of the road.
  • Recycling may also be dropped off at the Township Recycling Center located next to the Public Works Department between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • As of 5/2/13 the Township was advised that Bulky Rigid Plastic Recycling is being suspended as there is no longer a market for this type of materials. Residents are advised that this material should be placed at the curb for disposal with regular trash.
Tires are picked up once a year during the month of October by the Township Public Works Department.  There is an 8 tire limit per household.  No tires larger than 10 x 20 will be picked up.  Please place tires curbside.  You may call Township to advise that tires should be collected.

TVs and Computer Equipment
A container has been provided to Tabernacle Township by Goodwill Industries as a convenient drop-off of TVs, lap tops, computer towers, and monitors only. Residents may bring these items Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. leave the items next to the large blue container that is marked Goodwill.  Public Works will place these items in the container.   You may call Township for curbside pick up.  Remember, you may call for pick up on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  No same day service. Items MUST be out by 6:00 a.m.  Public Works will not return if the items are forgotten.  Call (609) 268-1220.  Computers can be recycled at all Goodwill stores.
