TABERNACLE RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
Patty Bowker Park and Pricketts Mill Park have new playground equipment. In an effort to meet the new US Consumer Product Safety Commission Public Playground Safety Standards deadline of October 18, 2007 the old wooden playground equipment was removed in preparation for the new equipment installation.
Tabernacle Township is very grateful to the many volunteers that donated their time and efforts in the construction of the wooden playground; however, the upgrade of all playground elements is required by October 18, 2007 for all governmental entities by the State of New Jersey. Our previous playground was unable to meet the new fall zone requirements and concerns over treated lumber, thus making it impractical to continue using the wooden structure. The volunteer’s thank you sign was moved to a prominent place in the new playground area and the bricks have remained in their current location.
The new playground equipment has been installed and is already being enjoyed by the residents and their children. We hope the photos of the new equipment below give you an idea of the direction the township is going in keeping our playgrounds safe and sound for our children. Should you see any vandalism being done to the equipment at the parks, residents are encouraged to contact the Red Lion State Police barracks immediately.
