Effective in September, 2014, Single Stream Recycling began for towns in Burlington County that are currently enrolled in the program. Tabernacle residents are included in this program. Single Stream Recycling means that there will no longer be a need to separate your bottles and cans from your paper items. All the recycling will be collected in the blue 96 gallon containers that have been distributed to the homes in Tabernacle. The round buckets will no longer be used as the trucks picking up the recycling will be using the automated lift system on trucks. Residents are being asked to hold onto these round buckets temporarily until a decision is made on what to do with them. REMEMBER!!! ALL CONTAINERS ARE PROPERTY OF THE TOWNSHIP AND MUST REMAIN ON THE PROPERTY ASSIGNED. IF A CONTAINER IS REMOVED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THE RESIDENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A NEW CONTAINER. Some families may not be able to fit all their recycling into their existing blue cart. If you fill your blue cart every collection now, you may need an extra cart for single stream. If you do need an extra recycling cart they are available at a cost of $10.00 per cart payable to Tabernacle Township. Contact the Township at 609-268-1220 if you have any questions.
