THE RECYCLEBANK IS HERE IN TABERNACLE
Residents of Taberncle Township should have received their information on the Burlington County RecycleBank Program. A letter with information on this new program has been sent from our Mayor Richard Franzen. This is a reward program that operates on the principle of points earned and then redeemed for rewards at local and national businesses. An identification tag has been attached to your existing paper/cardboard recycling cart that has a unique number and will associate your cart to your address and will be used to track your recycling efforts and to award points which can then be redeemed for rewards.
Beginning on March 26, 2009 the trucks will read your identification tag, recognize your household has recycled and transmit that information to the Recycle Bank. You can go online to www.RecycleBank.com, log onto your personal account and redeem your RecycleBank Points for rewards. You can also call toll free at 1-888-727-2978.

NEW RECYCLING CONTAINERS HAVE BEEN DELIVERED!
By now, many of you should have received the new paper/cardboard recycling containers. These containers are part of a new pickup system being used by the County Recycling Program.
At the present time the containers are only for paper/cardboard. Do not place bottles, cans or trash material in these containers. Containers should be placed with the lid facing the street and the containers must be placed on the curb or street in reach of the recycling truck's lift arm. If the container is set too far back the lift arm will not be able to reach the container and your recycling will not be picked up. For residents' convenience, the Township of Tabernacle has a recycling area for drop off of paper/cardboard, bottles and cans. It is located next to the Public Works facility and is in a fenced enclosure. Normal hours of operation at the township are Monday-Friday from 7AM to 3PM.
If you have any questions about the program contact the Burlington County Recycling Hotline #609-267-6889.
PAPER/CARDBOARD CONTAINERS AS WELL AS THE BOTTLE/CAN CONTAINERS ARE THE PROPERTY OF TABERNACLE TOWNSHIP. THE PAPER/CARDBOARD CONTAINERS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO SPECIFIC HOUSE NUMBERS.
INDIVIDUALS SELLING THEIR HOME ARE ADVISED THAT THESE CONTAINERS ARE TO REMAIN ON THE PREMISES. LANDLORDS SHOULD ADVISE THEIR TENANTS THAT THESE CONTAINERS ARE TO REMAIN ON THE PREMISES.
IF A PAPER/CARDBOARD CONTAINER IS REMOVED WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE TOWNSHIP AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED,
THE HOMEOWNER WILL BE CHARGED A REPLACEMENT FEE OF
$65.00 PAYABLE TO TABERNACLE TOWNSHIP BEFORE CONTAINER WILL BE REPLACED. |

FLAG DISPOSAL:
|
Do you have a flag that is tattered and torn? Are you unsure as to how to properly dispose of it? Just bring it to Town Hall. Tabernacle's Cub Scout Pack 54 began a flag retirement program in honor of the 5th year anniversary of September 11th. Effective on May 31, 2010 Tabernacle's Cub Scout Pack 439 will assume this program and will continue to proudly serve the community of Tabernacle Township.
A large blue barrell is located near the reception desk of Town Hall and worn or tattered flags may be placed in this container. Periodically the flags will be collected by Cub Scout Pack 439 and destroyed in a respectful manner. Thanks to Cub Scout Pack 439 for assuming this responsiblity. |
