SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING
Effective in September, 2014, Single Stream Recycling began for towns in Burlington County that are currently enrolled in the program. Tabernacle residents are included in this program. Single Stream Recycling means that there will no longer be a need to separate your bottles and cans from your paper items. All the recycling will be collected in the blue 96 gallon containers that have been distributed to the homes in Tabernacle. The round buckets will no longer be used as the trucks picking up the recycling will be using the automated lift system on trucks. Residents are being asked to hold onto these round buckets temporarily until a decision is made on what to do with them.
REMEMBER!!! ALL CONTAINERS ARE PROPERTY OF THE TOWNSHIP AND MUST REMAIN ON THE PROPERTY ASSIGNED. IF A CONTAINER IS REMOVED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THE RESIDENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A NEW CONTAINER.
Some families may not be able to fit all their recycling into their existing blue cart. If you fill your blue cart every collection now, you may need an extra cart for single stream. If you do need an extra recycling cart they are available at a cost of $10.00 per cart payable to Tabernacle Township. Contact the Township at 609-268-1220 if you have any questions.
The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders is responsible for the paper, plastic, aluminum, glass and computer recycling program in Tabernacle Township. As of January 1, 2011 televisions and computers, including laptops and monitors will be banned from all landfills and incinerators in New Jersey. Residents of Burlington County may drop off these items at any authorized Goodwill Donation Center during normal business hours (Locations include: Bordentown, Lumberton, Maple Shade, Medford and Willingboro) or The Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex on Rt. 543, Florence, NJ. Best Buy is offering to take back your old computer or tv when delivering a new one to your home or will pick it up at your home for a fee if you are not making a purchase.

THE RECYCLEBANK IS HERE IN TABERNACLE
This is a reward program that operates on the principle of points earned and then redeemed for rewards at local and national businesses. An identification tag has been attached to your existing paper/cardboard recycling cart that has a unique number and will associate your cart to your address and will be used to track your recycling efforts and to award points which can then be redeemed for rewards.
Beginning on March 26, 2009 the trucks will read your identification tag, recognize your household has recycled and transmit that information to the Recycle Bank. You can go online to www.RecycleBank.com , log onto your personal account and redeem your RecycleBank Points for rewards. You can also call toll free at 1-888-727-2978.
Recycling pickup dates for paper, bottles and cans are every other Thursday. The recycling schedule can be obtained through this link.
